Know How Your Face Is Shaped And Wear Your Glasses With Pride
None of us like to be classified, but it does help when it comes to fashion. As unique as you are, you have a distinctive shape that can be categorized and help you identify what does and does not look good on you.
Let’s start with you face, as pretty as it is, it has a shape to it. Although not all the shapes sound so pretty, they are all very descriptive and helpful when it comes to things like selecting a pair of Reading glasses or choosing a hair style. So pay attention and do not take offense to being called a a triangle head.
There are generally seven recognized face shapes. Those include Oval, oblong, round, square, base down triangle, base up triangle, square, and the elusive diamond.
Knowing a face shape will help tremendously when selecting your next pair of eyeglasses or reading sunglasses. You see; the shape of your face is the number one indicator of what will look good on your face.
We all have different face shapes, regardless of gender and age. The rules below apply when looking for both womens and Mens reading glasses. The same concepts are still used
Below are some guidelines regarding your face shape and the style of glasses you might want to consider.
Base-Down Triangle – Look for frames that emphasize the top half of the face, such as cat-eye styles.
Base-Up Triangle – Take attention to the lower half of the face with rimless glasses.
Round – Look for a frame that will make your face appear slimmer and longer. You can do this with narrow angular frames with a greater width. Generally, rectangular frames work well.
Oval – You have it good. Almost any frame will look good on an oval face shape.
Oblong – Frames with a lower bridge will help to shorten the appearance of the nose. Consider frames that bring attention to the temples to make the
face appear wider.
Square – The idea is to soften the face. Do that with rounded frames and narrow widths.
Diamond – Have fun with either extended upper frames, such as cat-eyes or go for a rimless style. Either will look great.
The general concept is to look for eyewear that completely contrast your overall face shape. You can go for anything from square to round or, magnetic reading glasses, if you like. But if you want to look good, follow the rules. If you have angles on your face, wear glasses that have soft edges. Try it, you will start to notice that when you buy reading glasses, it becomes so much easier.
Fashion and face shapes has been practiced by beauticians and opticians for years. There is no secret to finding a pair of glasses that will enhance your great looks. The funny thing is that all you have to do is look for glasses that contradict you shape.
